The fact that the Jewish people knew their genealogy back many generations is not strange. Most people yearn to know where they come from. However, this yearning can only be truly satisfied when we realize that we come from God. He created mankind and gave us the power to procreate. And at the moment we conceive a child, God creates and infuses an immortal soul into that child. God knows personally each and every one of his children and he wants to be with them forever.
Lord, help me to appreciate your desire to spend all of eternity with me.
