Jealousy is the fear that someone will take something from you. King Herod was so jealous about a prophecy of a future king of the Jews, that he was willing to kill babies to prevent someone from taking his place as king. Jealousy not only harms our relationship with others, it also separates us from God.
Lord, help me to overcome my own jealous tendencies, so I may be closer to others, and to you.
