Jesus is about to send the apostles to various towns to deliver his message about the kingdom of God. Since people don’t normally listen to strangers, Jesus gives the apostles authority to drive out demons, heal the sick, and cure disease. Witnessing these miracles, the people will be more likely to listen and believe. Today, through the power of prayer, miracles still happen. God knows what is best for the world and answers prayers when and how is most appropriate.
Lord, help me to pray for those who need physical, emotional, or spiritual healing.
