Only 10-15% of people in the time of Jesus could read or write. Because the literate were proud and arrogant, they were close-minded to the teaching of Jesus. The illiterate were like children, humble and receptive, and Jesus praised God for revealing the truth about the kingdom to them.
Lord help me to be open and faithful to you, so I may understand your teachings.
