Society emphasizes and treasures the perfect body. Over a lifetime, the average person will dedicate two to four hours a day to their appearance. As creatures of God, there is nothing wrong with appreciating physical beauty. Eventually though, our bodies will grow old and die. Our soul, however, will live forever; either in the kingdom of heaven or the fiery furnace. How many hours a day do we cultivate our inner beauty through prayer, reading the Bible, and following God’s will?
Lord, help me to focus my life on seeking the greatest of treasures, eternity with you.
