Jesus tells these fishermen to follow him and become fishers of men. They did not know him or that he was the Son of God, yet they followed him. Possibly they were drawn in by his charismatic personality and were curious what he meant. In time they would leave everything behind, even their families, to his disciple. Each one of us is called to follow God. Most of us won’t need to leave our jobs and families, but we are all called to be a disciple in our own unique and special way.
Lord, help me to spend time with you daily, to learn from you, and to become one of your disciples.
