The Pharisees, scribes, and priests were religious leaders who established and taught the law to the people. The law outlines rules of conduct, to help us live according to God’s commandments. Jesus says that in order for us to enter the kingdom of heaven, we must follow the law. Jesus established his church and placed Peter in charge. Over the centuries, Peter and his successors have been responsible for teaching us the law.
Lord, help me to know your commandments and follow the law of your church.
