Jesus demands a lot from his followers. His teachings about the kingdom of heaven are difficult and not popular. Those who follow Jesus will not have easy lives and they will even be hated. However, by putting God first in everything, we can properly serve others. We should honor our parents and love our families. And we should bury our dead. As long as we don’t let our own desires, or the desires of others, take priority over the teachings of Jesus.
Lord, help me to follow your teachings and put God first in my life.
