This woman did not take no for an answer. She repeatedly pleaded to Jesus, and because of her great faith and persistence, Jesus answered her prayer. In our modern world, we are self-sufficient and can solve most problems on our own. But when something comes up we can’t handle, we ask God for help. God doesn’t want to be our last-resort problem-solver. He wants to be our first-priority loving-father. And like a good father, he will answer our prayers, when and how is best for us.
Lord, help me to have the faith and persistence in my relationship with you.
