Jesus performed another miracle, providing food for the people. He gave thanks to God, broke the bread, and fed thousands from just seven loaves and a few fish. But Jesus didn’t want to provide people with a single meal that does not last. He wanted to show his disciples how to feed his believers with spiritual bread that would last forever. This miracle prefigured what would happen at the Last Supper where Jesus commanded the disciples, our modern-day bishops and priests, to do the same.
Lord, help me to believe in you so that you may feed my soul.
