The Pharisees and Sadducees liked power, prestige, and their interpretation of God’s word. The teachings of Jesus were a threat to their way of life, so they demanded a sign hoping to discredit him in front of the people. Blinded by their own desires, the Pharisees and Sadducees didn’t even recognize the Son of God in front of them. Are we more interested in what we want and what makes us happy than what God wants? Do we even know what his Son taught?
Lord, help me to know your teachings and desire what you want, not what I want.
