Matthew 18:21-35, The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

Peter asks Jesus how many times he must forgive someone who sins against him. Jesus responded seven times seventy which equates to unlimited forgiveness. Jesus then tells a parable that will foreshadow his own death. The master forgave his servants’ debt, a huge amount that could never be repaid. And Jesus forgave the sins of the whole world by dying on a cross. While we can never repay Jesus, he does command that we forgive others from our heart, otherwise God will cast us into hell.

Lord, help me to forgive others from my heart, as often as you have forgiven me.
