In this parable, Jesus is the master, the world is his household, and his followers are the servants. The master’s return has been long delayed. The unfaithful servants misuse their gifts, neglect their duties, and live for earthly pleasures. The faithful servants strive to be holy as they wait for their master’s return, using their wisdom, wealth, and talents, to nurture others, and to spread the Gospel message.
Lord, help me to be a steadfast and faithful servant.
