Jesus uses this parable to describe one of the ways we are to prepare for his return. God has given each of us different talents. He will judge us not on how we do compared to others, but compared to our own ability. If we do good with our talents, using them to help and love others, then we will enter the kingdom of heaven. But if we neglect our talents or use them for our own selfish desires, we will be cast into hell.
Lord, help me to have the wisdom and courage to use my talents well.
