Jesus had great concern for the poor and often taught that we should care for them. Yet he permits this woman to pour very expensive perfumed oil on him. The disciples were confused and outraged at this waste that could have helped the poor. But Jesus corrects them saying she has done a good thing. The poor are always with us and we should help them. But using some of our wealth to build beautiful houses for God is also a good thing.
Lord, help me to appreciate what others have done so that I may worship you in a beautiful church.
