Jesus, having been tortured and paraded through the town like a criminal, is stripped naked and nailed to a cross. Instead of showing compassion for a fellow human being, everyone makes fun of him; the religious leaders, the common people, and even the criminals crucified with Jesus. We like to think we would never do that, but we do. We make fun of others because of how they look, what they do, and what they believe.
Lord, help me to see you in everyone and make fun of no one.
