Jesus was angry at the desecration of his Father’s house. The temple was designed to be a place, where God would dwell among his people, and a place where the people could meet God in prayer. But the priests allowed the temple to become a den of thieves, where merchants and money changers were cheating the people. Today churches aren’t selling animals for sacrifice. But are they serving the purpose God intended? Or are they places where we get coffee, socialize, and watch a concert?
Lord, help me to reverently meet you in prayer in your Father’s house.
