Judas regretted having sinned by betraying Jesus. However, instead of seeking forgiveness, Judas committed another sin by taking his own life. We are all sinners and most of us deeply regret our sins. While we can and should ask God for forgiveness in prayer, Jesus knows it is good for us to hear that our sins are forgiven. That is why he gave his disciples the authority to forgive sins; see John 20:21-23.
Lord, help me to seek forgiveness from you through prayer and your appointed servants.
